Sew Dog Christmas Bandanas
Sew a beautiful dog Christmas bandana with any remnant fabric that you have in your sewing stash.
A fun project and it's an opertunity to be creative and use embellishments that I've wanted to try.
I use any fabric about 12" square to sew into a scarf or bandana to slide onto Daisy's collar.
I fold it in half to make 2 triangles. I cut off about 2 inches of opposite corners, fold under the ends twice then sew to make a nice flat hem.
Next I flip the pointed end over, to meet the opposite pointed end, right sides together. I sew from one hem, along the straight side, pivot at the point, finish at the other hemmed end.
Trim off the extra fabric edge around the point of the bandana. Do not cut the stitches. Flip your dog Christmas Bandana right sides out. Smooth out the point of the bandana and press.
I slide my dog's collar through the opening and out the other side, to make a sturdy bandana for my dog, that will stay on her collar through any activity she chooses. I choose washable materials like cottons for my adventure hound.
Here is Daisy's Christmas Party Bandana. I love the Victorian look and feel of the pearls and the lacy look of the ric rac in the seem. This scarf has been Daisy tested and survived several Christmases.
